Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky have split up after a year of dating.
The 27-year-old actress began seeing the 48-year-old director last September shortly after the cameras stopped rolling on their fantastic yet rather messed up film mother!.
The private couple had to give up their secrecy when photos of the two going on dates appeared in magazines.
Even while promoting the film the couple rarely posed together being clever not to let any rumours start, although the paparazzi got them eventually.
However, the mother of all relationships has come to an end as Entertainment Tonight has learned from multiple sources that the couple have called it quits.
According to the entertainment website, sources say that the couple broke up last month but that it was an amicable split and the two remain friends.
The couple were last seen together 11 days ago at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles and although the split had already happened, they sat together and were friendly.
On The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, Lawrence spoke about how the relationship started.
I had a crush on him when he pitched to me, and that was like a year before we started rehearsing, but he was a professional, which only made it worse for me.
We just kind of formed a friendship. He knew how I felt. He never told me how he felt. I mean, I assumed.
We just formed a friendship and then the friendship turned into a partnership for the movie, once we started working. And then once the movie was done, I was like, ‘All right! You’re my boyfriend.’
Lawrence has previously been linked to British actor Nicholas Hoult, who she starred next to in X-Men: First Class, as well as Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin.
Meanwhile Aronofsky, whose works include Requiem For A Dream, Black Swan and mother!, was in a nine-year relationship with actress Rachel Weisz.
The two split in 2010 and Weisz went on to marry her Dream House co-star, James Bond himself, Daniel Craig.
The Oscar-winning actress has recently spoken out about how she felt ‘violated’ when nude photos on her phone were leaked to the public.
Speaking on the same podcast, she said:
When I first found out it was happening, my security reached out to me. It was happening minute to minute. It was almost like a ransom situation where they were releasing new ones [photos] every hour or so.
I feel like I got gang-banged by the fucking planet. Like, there’s not one person in the world that is not capable of seeing these intimate photos of me. You can just be at a barbecue and somebody can just pull them up on their phone. That was a really impossible thing to process.
A lot of women were affected, and a lot of them reached out to me about suing Apple or suing [others] – and none of that was gonna really bring me peace, none of that was gonna bring my nude body back to me.
Calling it a ‘sex crime’, Lawrence said the hackers should ‘cower in shame’.
