Couple Have Twins Two Years After Two Sons Were Killed In Car Crash

A couple who lost their two boys in a car crash years ago has just welcomed baby twins.

Hadley and Gentry Eddings have just announced the arrival of two happy and healthy twins, named Isaiah Dobbs and Amos Reed, sending WBTV  the exciting news.

In a touching tribute, Isaiah and Amos’ middle names were given to them in honour of their late older brothers, who died in a car crash in 2015.

The couple’s car was rear-ended in a tragic accident near Wilmington, North Carolina, when they were both 28 years old. Their young son Dobbs was killed in the crash.

Hadley was pregnant with a baby boy, named Reed, who was delivered in an emergency C-section after the accident but died two days later.

The truck driver responsible for the accident, Matthew Blair Deans, also aged 28 at the time, was sentenced to one to three years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. He was released at the end of November, after serving a year and three months.

Deans showed great remorse for the pain he had caused the Eddings family, and they responded to his apology with this heartfelt message: “We hope to be holding hands with you in heaven with our children.”

GoFundMe page organised by the couple’s friends after the accident has raised more than $203,000 in the past two years, but Hadley and Gentry, who work at a North Carolina church, hope well-wishers will instead donate to ‘Mission of Hope Haiti’.

The organisation, where they both served, works in orphan care, education, health care, church advancement and women and family empowerment programs throughout Haiti.
