MMA Fighter Uses The Walls Of Jericho To Beat His Opponent

Six time world champion wrestler, Chris Jericho, was more than just a brute. He was a pioneer, an inventor if you will, coining lots of brand new moves in the wrestling world. 

One, however, will forever be his magnum opus: The Walls of Jericho, otherwise known as the Boston Crab.

Though there are dozens of similarities between professional wrestling and MMA, I personally have never seen somebody in the MMA world using The Walls of Jericho to break down an opponent. That is, until now…

During last night’s Full Contact Contender 19 event in Bolton, Jonno Mears, obliterated his opponent, Aaron Jones, with the brutal submission by getting Jones onto stomach, sitting on his back, and then lifting his legs backwards forcing Jones to tap out in seconds due to the agony caused, reports MMA Fighting.

It certainly makes for some painful viewing.

As you can probably imagine the move has instantly gone viral due to its utterly bizarre nature:

Amazingly, the incredible and destructive move, which has been unsuccessfully attempted by countless fighters before, was made during what was only Mears’ second fight. The Rochdale fighter now boasts a 2-0 MMA record.

I guess we can only speculate what the future holds for Jonno Mears?
